Kindergarten is free from 2 years old for 30 hours a week. To achieve this, we require you to attest your 20 hours from the government. We do ask for a donation of $5 per day, per Whānau.
We always have spaces available at our association. While this may not always be at your initial kindergarten of choice, you can experience the same quality and care across all 24 kindergartens. We also have waitlists for your kindergarten of choice if there are currently no spaces available.
Yes, if the kindergarten of your choice does not have a space but you wish to start immediately, you can relocate once a space at your preferred kindergarten arises.

Tamariki and whānau are at the heart of every kindergarten. We believe every tamariki should have the opportunity to access early childhood education and we focus on the formation of supportive and respectful relationships with each family. We also love playing in nature. Our environments are fun places where we explore, discover and learn together.
Yes, we accept 2-year-olds at our kindergartens. Even though the Government doesn’t provide 20 hours free for under 3-year-olds, our association is able to provide up to 30 hours free through the support of donations.
Your donation helps provide 30 hours of free childcare for families, including supporting 2-year-old tamariki. It also helps with the cost of running our programmes and resources for our tamariki.
Most of our kindergartens offer morning sessions or full sessions (4 – 6 hour sessions). Clarendon Kindergarten offers an all-day model (7:30 am – 5:30 pm). Refer to the individual kindergarten pages for specific hours available.
New Zealand Kindergarten (NZK) is an organisation that our association is a member of. There are 19 associations within this network, ensuring all our processes and policies are aligned. Outside of this, NZK connects our staff with others around the country, sharing knowledge and resources.
